It is a clear and cool evening,
with the diamond stars across the midnight blue sky.
Inside the home,
there is a warm fire crackling in the fireplace.
Providing warmth to all of the rooms,
as well as providing light.
Hanging from the mantle of the fireplace,
are Christmas stockings made with love and care.
In a corner is a Christmas tree,
filled up with colorful lights and beautiful ornaments.
It is a scene that I love to sit in front of,
and reflect upon the year.
Also to reflect upon the many Christmases of the past.
As I take my stroll down memory lane,
one thing stands out on all of the Christmases past.
It was spent with the ones I love and care about.
Family and Friends.
It doesn't matter whether there are presents or wealth.
As long as the holidays are spent with loved ones,
that is the best gift a person can have.
With this thought in mind,
I truly do count myself fortunate.
Fortunate to be able to spend the holidays each year,
with the ones who mean so much to me.
My wish this and every holiday season,
is simple but comes from the heart.
Have yourself a Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year,
with the ones you love.
